Dreifaltigkeitsweg trail to the Brudersbrunn
This tranquil themed trail in the southern part of Grafenau starts and ends at the Spitalkirche church and clocks in at some 7 kilometres in length.
The trail takes its name from the picture of the holy trinity in the Brudersbrunn pilgrimage chapel which the trail passes on route.
In fact, the number “three” is the overall theme of the trail and walkers will see this concept being picked up time and again throughout its course.
For instance, the trail is split up into three sections – focusing on the concepts of history, crossroads and medication. Each of these themes in turn touches on three fascinating sub-elements.
Walkers will see that all good things come in threes on route, providing plenty in the way of food for thought in the process.
One particularly worthwhile feature on this trail is the ascent to the so-called Aussichtsstein, a picturesque rock formation covered in moss.
It offers up sumptuous panoramic views, rewarding visitors for the somewhat challenging ascent.
